EMERALD TAILORING
In developing my practise as a designer working with industry set briefs, I engaged in learning the process involved in tailoring and working with high quality fabrics in order to understand their fundamental properties to get the best possible finish.
British Heritage was at the centre of my project, focusing particularly on the monarchy and the crown. Combining this into the traditional techniques of tailoring in order to create new innovative design ideas using creative cut techniques.
The three piece suit was inspired by Emeralds and the way light refracts through the cut of these precious gem stones. Made from a range of wools, one of which a Hainsworth Wool that prides themselves in being iconically British, was very in-fitting with the concept of the project and elevated the finish of the outfit.
